SUBSTANCE: in the method of locomotive hybrid power plant control, processes taking place in transient modes are regulated, herewith free power of traction diesel generator is used to charge energy accumulator. Also, geoinformational data of each route are received from satellite navigation systems and processed. Trip data are stored in data processing device memory, based on obtained statistics and preset values of travel speed and traction force on wheel rim the power plant operation parameters are determined and transmitted to computing control unit to calculate average power. Control system for method implementation contains device for receiving signals about locomotive path, device for statistical processing and storing geoinformational data and power plant operation parameters, computing unit, geoinformational data receiver, motorman's commands processing unit, motorman's control panel and locomotive parameters measurement and control unit.
