FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: first, a roll is heated at a rate of 50 °C/h to temperature of 1050 °C and is kept at this temperature and cooled in the air to 400-500 °C, then the roller is heated at the same rate to a temperature in the range of 900-1000 °C, is kept at this temperature, cooled in oil, after which the roll is heated at the same rate to the annealing temperature in the range of 500-680 °C depending on a given hardness, is kept at this temperature and cooled in the air.
EFFECT: increased mechanical properties of the roll by obtaining more fine-grained structure, increased depth of the roll working layer, improved operating characteristics of the roll and reduced duration of heat treatment.
