FIELD: repair of backup rolls of sheet mills with worn out or damaged in the course of operation barrels. SUBSTANCE: roll is heated up to 400 - 460 C temperature and multiple-layer arc deposition is carried out with heat treatment of built-up layer. After building up of the first 2 - 3 layers roll is cooled to 250 - 300 C temperature. At this temperature building up of the remaining layers is performed. Heat treatment of built-up roll is carried out by means of heating up to 500 - 600 C temperature with holding at this temperature within 8 - 10 hours and subsequent cooling to 50 -100 C temperature at the maximum rate of 100 C/h. EFFECT: extended service life of built-up rolls and economically profitable repair. 1 tbl, 1 ex
