FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method to identify points of access for a closed group (CSG) of terminal devices of mobile radio communication to a cellular network of mobile radio communication, besides, using these points of access is permitted only for a closed group of devices of mobile radio communication. For this purpose data of sent and/or received adjacent cells to search for an access point are at least temporarily stored in a terminal device of mobile radio communication, and searching for an access point for a closed group is initiated only if the terminal device of mobile radio communication is within the distance of coverage of one or several stored adjacent cells of the access point for a closed group. At the same time, if an access point for a closed group has not been found, then repeated search for an access point is carried out by a terminal device of mobile radio communication, if within the distance of coverage of the adjacent cells of the access point the geographical position of the terminal device of mobile radio communication relative to the previous position has changed considerably.

EFFECT: invention provides for an improved mechanism to initiate a process to search for a suitable cell of CSG at the side of a terminal device of mobile radio communication.
