SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of experimental psychology, medicine, neurophysiology and can be used for determining level of psychophysiological and neurophysiological development of children of pre-school age, as well as in clinical neurology for early diagnostics of focal brain affection, and in particular for diagnostics of lesions of cortical centres of hearing and corpus callosum. Via head phones presented are successive dichotic pairs of acoustic clicks, with the period of dichotic stimuli lag inside the pair being 500 mc. In the first dichotic stimulus interaural difference in time of presentation of right and left acoustic clicks (ΔT) is always equal zero. In the second introduced is growing from zero with 100 mcs step ΔT until the moment of disintegration of fused sound image into two oppositely lateralised sound images. Final value of interaural ΔT is used to make conclusion about degree of maturity of reciprocal interrelationships between paired hearing centres.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to determine presence and degree of development of binaurally-bihemispherically organised system of sound localisation in children of early pre-school age.
