FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method may be used for examination of brain functional state and for mental fatigue diagnostics. Series of aural clicks with changeable interaural time delay between paired pulses are delivered through headphone. Paired pulses simulate movement of acoustic image at step of 10 mcs. At first similar acoustic clicks are delivered simultaneously, and then increasing interaural time delay is introduced. Minimum value of time delay is determined which causes subjective perception of acoustic image shift from sagittal plane of head to the right or left. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of examination. 1 tbl
