METHOD OF TREATING LIQUORRHEA Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to neurosurgery and can be applied in treatment of subarachnoid-pleural liquor fistulas. Essence of method lies in gluing autotransplant from intercostal muscle into cavity of liquor fistula canal. Size of diameter of liquor fistula external opening is measured from its edge to periphery in costal direction. Distance which is not less than 3 cm larger than the largest size of diameter of liquor fistula external opening is measured off. At this distance on 180 degree arc pleura is dissected and depleuretisation of internal surface of ribs and intercostal muscles is performed in direction of opening until not less than 1 cm remains before reaching its edge. Pleural flap, overlapping external opening of liquor fistula for not less than 1 cm, is obtained. After that zone around opening, surface of flap and laid muscular autotransplant are dried and processed with medical glue. Flap is glued to pleura on perimetre of external opening of liquor fistula in zone 1 cm from edge and to muscular autotransplant. Control of air-tightness is performed. After that pleural flap, adjacent parietal and visceral pleura are processed with hot air in the area of their contact until plasma drops, i.e. effect of "dew" appears on their surfaces, with further processing with alcohol iodine solution.

EFFECT: application of claimed invention makes it possible to reliably seal subaracnoid-pleural liquor fistula and prevent recurrence of liquorrhea into pleural cavity.
