FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used for welding metal sheets together by high frequency currents using induction heating in production of light housings. Edges of sheets to be welded are arranged overlapped between inductor connected to HF current source and two semi-female dies made from insulating material. Difference in diameters of female die makes four thicknesses of billet. Prior to welding, one of said semi-female dies is displaced to tightly press the billet to inductor. Another semi-female die is located with clearance to inductor that makes three thicknesses of the billet. Device top support is arranged concentric with inductor and billet on female die side and furnished with two bidirectional screws to allow semi-female die displacement relative to inductor. Bottom rigid support is equipped with screw arranged on edges of welded sheets to allow billet to move to contact with inductor flange.
EFFECT: faster welding, reduced consumption of discharge power and higher quality of welded seam.
