FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce tin monoxide used as starting material when producing materials for electronics, in glass industry, medicine and aviation as heat-reflecting coating, anti-icing agent and gas-sensitive element. The method involves preparation of a starting solution of a tin hydroxo form, putting said solution into an autoclave and putting the autoclave into a microwave apparatus. The starting solution of the tin hydroxo form is prepared by dissolving tin metal in hydrochloric acid while blowing with atmospheric oxygen. The autoclave with the solution is put into a microwave apparatus for 10-60 minutes at pressure 6-14 atm and microwave heating power 150 W. The 100 ml starting solution is prepared with the following ratio of components: tin - 0.2-2 wt %; 36 wt % hydrochloric acid solution - 52.9-42.0 wt %; 9 wt % ammonium hydroxide solution - 46.9-56.0 wt %.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain tin monoxide with grain size from 300 nm to 6 mcm and resistance to oxidation by atmospheric oxygen at temperature of up to 310°C with minimal time and monetary expenses.
