SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of producing maghemite. Method involves treatment of iron oxide, hematite with particle size less than 30 mcm, super-high frequency waves with power 800 W for 12–15 minutes in air with humidity of 70–80 %.

EFFECT: invention simplifies and reduces the cost of the method of producing maghemite, enables to obtain a chemically pure product and increases environmental friendliness of the process.
