SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a current collector for electrochemical cells of diaphragm or membrane type which collector contains a layer produced by way of interlacement or entwinement of multiple first sets of metal wires with multiple isolated sets of metal wires or second sets of metal wires and is equipped with essentially parallel corrugations; the produced layer is conjugated with a flat element consisting of fabric or flattened sleeve formed by way of isolated metal wires entwinement.

EFFECT: characteristic of the collector is a low angular coefficient of the pressure to thickness ratio within a wide range of compression levels.
