FIELD: electrolytic methods; electrophoresis.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an electrode device comprising an anode assembly and a cathode assembly, each having: a flange configured to interact with the flange on the other electrode assembly to retain two separators therebetween; electrolysis compartment containing electrode and filled with liquid subjected to electrolysis during operation; inlet for liquid subjected to electrolysis; and an outlet header for recovered gas and waste liquid. At that, the output header at the anode assembly or cathode assembly is an external output header, which is the output volume, by means of which the gases released during electrolysis leave the electrode assembly and which is provided on the electrode assembly outside the electrolysis compartment, and the output header on the other of the electrode assemblies is an internal output header, which is the output volume by which the gases released during electrolysis leave the electrode assembly and which is provided on the electrode assembly inside the electrolytic compartment. Invention also relates to a modular or a filter-press electrolysis cell, a method for electrolysis of halides of alkali metals, use of an electrode in a modular or filter-press electrolyzer, method of electrode device restoration, method of modular or filter-press electrolyzer recovery.

EFFECT: invention provides an improved electrode device.
