FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: in the commutation method pressure is exercised onto the manipulator in the direction of the selected circuit switching variant; the pressure is applied to an resiliently deformable element containing tensoresistors; with the help of a microprocessor one analyses the value of the tensoresistors resistances with the pressure direction angle calculated by their values; if the calculated angle falls within the angle ranges corresponding to one of the available circuit switching versions the microprocessor implements the selected versions of circuit switching with the help of commutation devices. Distinctiveness of the polymorphous switch consists in the fact that the resiliently deformable element thereof is made of an elastic material in the shape of a hollow conic frustrum with cutouts and a control handle, the element attached to the print-board, while the tensoresistors represent a layer of electrically conductive elastic material on the surface of the resiliently deformable element.

EFFECT: creation of multifunctional, programmable, hi-tech virtually whole-polymeric devices possessing a wide array of functionalities; performing the functions of regular circuit-breakers, toggle switches or multifunctional switches, they may be simultaneously used as full-featured microjoisticks for input of information and control of facilities.
