FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: quick reactor includes fuel elements (2) installed in active zone (1) of reactor. The first thermal circuit (5) of reactor is filled with liquid-metal coolant, and lead-carbon alloy is used as the latter. Coolant also contains deoxidising additive, and the following components are used as the latter: magnesium, calcium or barium. Fuel elements (2) include tight housing which is equipped with protective cover made from vanadium or niobium, or from alloy on the basis of vanadium and/or niobium. Protective coating from vanadium or niobium, or from alloy on the basis of vanadium and/or niobium is applied to surface of structural elements of the first circuit (5), which contact the liquid-metal coolant.
EFFECT: increasing the service life of fuel elements and quick reactor as a whole due to formation of corrosion-resistant carbide coating during reactor operation on surface of protective covers of fuel elements and on surface of protective coating of structural elements of the first circuit.
