FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves filling of the first circuit of a nuclear reactor with a liquid-metal coolant and addition to it of a reagent interacting with material of elements of the first circuit with formation of a protective film, heating of the liquid-metal coolant with the reagent added to it to the temperature providing conditions of formation of the protective film, and their exposure at this temperature till a solid protective film is formed on the surface of the material of elements of the first circuit. Heating of the liquid-metal coolant with the reagent added to it is performed due to its friction against rotated vanes of a vane-type pump submerged into the liquid-metal coolant.
EFFECT: simpler passivation process, more reliable passivation mode, its improved safety and simpler control of the passivation process of steel surfaces.
