FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: flat power cable contains at least two strands (2), minimum two of them containing an insulated energy-transmitting element (3, 4) and a protective sheath (5) positioned radially outside the said insulated energy-transmitting element (3, 4). The strands (2) are positioned on a common cross axis (X-X), the outer armour (9) enclosing the strands (2). Inside the armour (9) interfacing strands (2) and the armour (9) inner surface (12) form inner cavities (10). The flat cable (1) contains swelling fillers (13) located in the inner cavities (10). Within the cable (1) cross section each swelling filler (13), while unswollen, has a cross section area less than that of the corresponding inner cavity (10). The swelling fillers (13) swell when absorbing liquids wherein the cable is immersed (1) and expand filling the whole of the inner cavities, pressing onto the strands and the armour and retaining the cable flat shape.
EFFECT: invention ensures stability of the cable flat shape in the course of both transportation and operation.
