FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of preparing catalysts for low-temperature conversion of carbon monoxide with steam, which can be used in industry to produce hydronitric mixtures for ammonia synthesis. The method of producing a catalyst for low-temperature conversion of carbon monoxide with steam involves mechanical activation of components containing aluminium, copper and zinc, moulding, drying and calcining granules. The method uses a mixture of aluminium, copper and zinc oxides. Mechanical activation of components is carried out in the presence of water and ammonium carbonate with weight ratio (Al2O3+ZnO+CuO):(NH4)2CO3:H2O=1:(0.1-0.4):(0.1-1).

EFFECT: method of producing a catalyst for low-temperature conversion of carbon monoxide with steam, having high activity; compared to the counterpart, use of the invention increases catalyst activity by 53,8-79,8%; method is simpler - avoids the need for preparing a multi-component gaseous mixture and recycling thereof at the mill output.
