FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of producing catalyst for medium-temperature conversion of carbon oxide by water steam and may be used in production of nitrogen-hydrogen mix for synthesis of ammonium. Proposed method comprises mechanical activation of iron-containing component, drying, calcination and formation of granules. Cast iron powder is used as iron-containing component. Mechanical activation of said component is performed, first, in 1-20%-solution of carboxylic acid and, then, with addition of calcium and copper oxides at the following Fe2O3:CaO:CuO ratio =90÷50:40÷10:10÷1.
EFFECT: twofold increase in catalyst specific surface and 31-37%-increase in its activity.
