FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method includes electro-chemical deposition of the coating on steel part from mixed electrolyte that has the temperature 55-65°C and contains, g/l: chromic anhydride 80-150; sulphuric acid 0.8-1.5; molybdic acid 10-30; vanadic acid 10-30; indium sulphate 0.5-10; cubic borazon nitride 10-50 and water. In the course of deposition the cathodic density of the current is smoothly reduced from 70 to 20 A/dm2 for gradual increase of indium content in the coating with increase of its thickness. As a result gradient composite coating chrome-indium-molybdenum-vanadium-cubic borazon nitride was obtained.

EFFECT: increase of wear resistance, reduction of coating friction coefficient and reduction of electrolyte toxic level.
