METHOD OF USING UNMANNED AIRCRAFT AND CONTROL APPARATUS Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC G05D1/00

Abstract RU 2457531 C1

FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) based on their adaptation of flight modes, in which n, where n>3, UAV are taken, which form the so-called 'air stack'; the first UAV is the leading and the second and third are the followers, wherein the leading UAV occupies the lower flight level, the second occupies the intermediate and the third occupies the upper flight level; the distance from the leading UAV to the earth's surface is determined by flight safety and complete execution of the set task, e.g., inspecting gas and oil pipelines; that height is equal to approximately 50 m; the second UAV is higher than the leading UAV by another 50 m and the third UAV is higher than second by another 50 m, wherein the second UAV relays data on a radio channel from the first UAV to the third UAV, which is also connected by a radio channel to a ground control base station, transmits the obtained observation data of the leading UAV and receives commands for flight control or changing the flight program; if the flight altitude of the third UAV is approximately 150 m and the length of the gas or oil pipeline between pump stations is equal to 300 km, the top third UAV is in the range of direct visibility with the ground base station, which enables to maintain stable communication with it.

EFFECT: high efficiency of controlling an unmanned aerial vehicle.
