FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and agriculture and specifically to the technology of processing municipal sewage sludge into organic fertiliser. The method of treating sewage sludge involves treatment of sludge with chemicals. Sludge treated with an amino acid detoxicant, which contains copper, zinc, lead, chromium, cobalt, nickel and cadmium ions, is held until pH=7.2-7.5 is achieved, followed by distribution of the sludge onto sludge lagoons and treatment with an amino acid bactericide mixed with water, based on hydrates of hydroxo-amino acid complexes of copper (2+) while holding the treated sludge for a time which depends on the volume of the sludge on one area and the number of feed places on the sludge lagoons, and re-treatment of the sludge distributed on the lagoon with the amino acid detoxicant, prepared from protein-containing materials, mixed with water in percentage content of 10% detoxicant to 90% water and holding the sludge for 20 days. Further, the composting of the obtained organomineral composition is carried out.
EFFECT: implementation of the present method simplifies treatment of sewage sludge and lowers the hazard level of sludge mass on treatment facilities.
