SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a device for manufacturing absorbent products (2). An absorbent sanitary product (2), such as diapers or panty liners with an elongated central portion (2a) and at least one pair of fixing flaps (5) is manufactured in the device (1) which is used to supply the flaps (5) in pairs from a supply unit (13) onto a conveyor line (6) carrying the products (2) towards an attachment section. Operation of the supply unit (13) consists in making oblique cross-sections (16) in a continuous strip (15) of the material to produce a sequence of the trapezoid flap elements (5). Then the flap elements (5) are removed from each other in turn in the direction (D3) transversal to the supply direction (D2) along the device to make two separate lines (23) which are taken by a roller (27) and mutually aligned to sequence the separate flap elements (5) in a sequence of the transversally aligned pairs. The align roller (27) rotates tangentially to the conveyor line (6) and is synchronised in such a manner that it places one pair of the flap elements (5) on each travelling product (2).

EFFECT: invention allows designing the device and developing the method for manufacturing the absorbent products which enable the alignment and the sequential supply of the separate fixing elements on the conveyor line at maximum accuracy.
