SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, namely, to finishing of workpiece with nanostructures surface layer. Indenter is used to burnish workpiece machined surface. Indenter features sharpened cylindrical shape and is made from fine cubic boron nitride. Work zone is cooled by dry air or inert gas.
EFFECT: part surface hardening.
