FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a finishing-hardening treatment by smoothing cylindrical surfaces. Movement of the smoother with an indenter with a cylindrical grinding on the surface of the machined workpiece with the set load is carried out. Roller made of structural steel is used as an indentor. Lubricant is supplied to the contact point of the roller and the workpiece. Load on the roller is set in accordance with the expression P=1.15⋅nσ⋅nb⋅σB⋅F, where nσ – coefficient (3.46–4.19], nb – coefficient (0.5–0.96], σv – the tensile strength of the workpiece material at a temperature of 850 °C, F is the nominal contact area of the roller with the workpiece.
EFFECT: occurrence of scoring and sagging in front of the tool on the surface being treated is reduced.
