FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to surface hardening of parts by smoothening. Multiple passes of smoother with indenter made of synthetic diamond are made on part surface. At that, forced cooling of working zone is performed with lubricating-cooling process liquid, in form of 0.3–0.5 % water solution of hydroxyethyl cellulose, which is uniformly applied on treated surface in amount of 0.09–0.11 g/cm2.
EFFECT: as a result, hardness of the part surface and resistance and durability of the indenter are increased.
