FIELD: information technologies.

SUBSTANCE: coding device comprises the following: a module (201) to identify the first position, which uses an error coefficient of transformation of the first level, indicating an error in signal decoding for an input signal, to find a band having highest error in a relatively wide pass band in all strips of the input signal, and information is generated on the first position, which indicates the identified band; a module (202) to identify the second position, which searches for a target frequency band, having highest error in a relatively narrow pass band in the band identified by the module (201) to identify the first position, and generates information on the second position, indicating the identified target frequency band; and a module (203) of coding, which codes the error coefficient of transformation in decoding of the first level, contained in the target frequency band. Information on the first position, information on the second position and the coding module are sent to the decoding device.

EFFECT: improved quality of sound and provision of possibility to indicate a band with a highest error, from a whole band with low computing complexity.
