FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises loading spent fuel into rustproof canister, attaching cover to canister, feeding setting filler therein and waiting for setting. Filler is fed into canister at the rate exceeding filler setting rate to allow every portion of filler to reach free horizontal surface in liquid state and maintain time intervals between filler feeds so that air and water escape from filler. Canister is filled with filler to top edge level.

EFFECT: ruled out depressurisation, simplified design.
