SLUICE FOR INJECTIONS Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61M5/158 A61M39/02 A61M5/14

Abstract RU 2459638 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to devices which are attached to the user's body for a certain period of time, and then the user may introduce drug preparations into the body by a sluice for injections. The sluice for injections comprises a base portion, a cannula, a gate and a fluid passage. The base portion is attached to the patient's skin when in use. The cannula is coupled with the base portion and introduced into the patient's body when in use. The gate comprises a needle-permeable partition through which the fluid can be injected into the sluice by the needle-based injection device. The gate is placed in the fixed position in relation to the base portion. In the fluid passage, the fluid injected through the gate is connected with the cannula. The sluice additionally comprises a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism has a first position wherein the needle can be introduced in the sluice and can be introduced in the cannula, as well as a second position wherein the needle of the needle-based injection device can be introduced in the sluice to make fluid injection into the patient's body through the cannula, however wherein said needle cannot contact the cannula. The gate is found in the same position in relation to the base portion when the locking mechanism is found in its first position and when the locking mechanism is found in its second position. A kit can additionally comprise said sluice for injections and the needle for introduction found in the cannula of the sluice. A method for using the sluice for injections involves placing the needle of the device for introduction through the cannula of the sluice for injections. The needle of the device for injection and the cannula are introduced subcutaneously. The sluice for injections is attached to the user's body. The needle of the device is removed. The locking mechanism is moved so that to avoid needle penetration into the cannula, and the fluid is injected from the needle-based injection device into the user's body through the sluice for injections without any additional travel of the locking mechanism.

EFFECT: invention allows using standard injection needles with no risk to pierce the cannula or to introduce the needle too deeply into the user's body.
