FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: present solution discloses methods and an apparatus for controlling excitation of seismic sources. The methods and apparatus enable excitation of seismic sources with increase in amplitude of the longitudinal wave. Certain methods and equipment enable to reduce formation of ghost waves and superimpose first pressure maxima from a large number of seismic sources. Multiple seismic sources can be excited successively in accordance with active feedback mechanisms.
EFFECT: obtaining more accurate seismic data and a more consistent pulse shape of the seismic source.
