SUBSTANCE: invention comprises a three-phase transformer with a secondary winding separated into n sections, a 3-phase bridge circuit, in which each arm of the bridge is made of 2 groups of m serially connected controlled valves, two additional groups of non-controlled valves are connected to points of connection of these controlled valves into each arm of the bridge, besides, one group of m controlled valves is connected by a cathode of an extreme valve to the beginning of the secondary winding of the transformer, and with an anode of another extreme valve of the group - to one end of the load, the second group of controlled valves is connected with an anode of an extreme valve to the beginning of the secondary winding of one phase of the transformer, and with a cathode - to the second end of the load, at the same time between anodes of serially connected controlled valves of the first group and taps of sections of the secondary winding of one phase of the transformer the uncontrolled valves of the first additional group are connected, by cathodes to taps of the secondary winding of the transformer, similarly, between cathodes of controlled valves of the second group and taps of sections of the secondary winding of one transformer phase uncontrolled valves of the second additional group are connected, by anodes to winding taps.

EFFECT: lower reverse voltage on valves, which reduces number of controlled valves and results in converter simplification.
