The short paging message indicates that receiving terminals shall process the second channel, along which a full paging message is sent. The terminal monitors the full paging channel only after the short paging message has been received, which contains one data bit modulated multiple times with one and the same code, providing for efficient transfer of the short paging message.
EFFECT: saving capacity of a battery in a wireless terminal due to lower consumption of power in a duty mode.
