FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metal pressure shaping and can be used at pressing of channels from aluminium, magnesium and other alloys. Workpiece in the form of a straight prism is heated and subject to hot pressing with creation in it of deformations of simple shear. For that purpose, workpiece section shape is kept constant during the whole deformation process. Workpiece is influenced first by providing its straight movement along pressing axis in the section 0.1-0.5 D long, where D - diameter of circle described about workpiece section. Then, screw movement of workpiece with pitch of 0.1-1.0 D is provided in the section with length of 0.1-0.3 of pitch. Final straight movement is performed in the section 0.1-0.5 D long.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of metal alloy homogenisation, which allows obtaining quality channels without using any additional annealing.
