FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, namely to methods for production of fine crystalline globular structure in bars of α- and (α+β) titanium alloys. Method includes forging ingot into billet in several stages with alternation of β, (α+β)-area with the last transition into (α+β)-areas, heating of stock to the temperature of pressing, pressing into working cavity of die. In die metal is additionally exposed to cyclic radial-shift deformation with deviation of pressing axis by an angle equal to 5-30°, and with its return to initial position. Prior to pressing, billet structure grain size is provided as equal to 200-300 micrometre. Pressing is carried out in one or more cycles consisting of two stages. At the second stage direction of pressing is changed to the opposite one. In process of each stage pressing is carried out with extent of drawing of at least 2.4 and single shift deformation with extent of deformation of at least 0.5. Between the stages, in process of cycle, billet is cut into metre volumes.

EFFECT: invention provides for production of high isotropic mechanical properties in the whole volume of article.
