FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: first pass is performed by friction welding using rotating disc tool. After the first pass is completed, the slot forming the edge preparation and quality weld root without internal defects is formed. The second pass and, if necessary, the next passes are performed for example with argon arc welding as per the edge preparation formed in a certain manner. Welding can be performed both with a consumable electrode and a nonconsumable electrode.
EFFECT: combined method ensures obtaining of quality connections under conditions of considerable oscillation of gas value between connected parts.
