FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises applying impact effects on comet surface by substance delivered by spaceship equipped with, at least, one impact unit, using guidance system. When spaceship approaches the comet on side illuminated by Sun, impact unit ejects granulated substance to destruct comet surface layer section and get in contact with its glacial core. Comet albedo alteration is controlled from spaceship board as well as gas-dust cloud formation around comet, origination and amount of emissions to define comet path change and decrease in risks of approaching the Earth. Results of said estimations are used to eject nest portions of granules. Granule size, composition and coating are selected subject to conditions of comet surface layer destruction.
EFFECT: lower weight of charge required for comet path alternation.
