FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive ICE silencers. Proposed silencer comprises cylindrical case with blind end walls, intermediate solid web to divide said case into tow isolated chambers, and coaxial perforated tube extending through said chambers. Said solid web divides case into two equal inlet I1 and outlet I2 chambers. Inlet chamber comprises intermediate dissipating perforated web to divide I1-long chamber into two l3- and I4-long chambers at the ratio of ''I3:I4=3:5''. Note here that perforation factor of dissipating web Kperfw.≥0.5, while total area of perforations of said web makes Sperfw = 1.2 Sta, where Sta is tube flow area. Perforated sections in perforated tube comprises three isolated sets of perforations separated by solid sections of perforated tube. Note here that perforations in tube are arranged as follows. Two isolated sets of holes are concentrated in inlet chamber and arranged on both sides of perforated web. One set of holes in perforated tube wall are concentrated in outlet chamber. Note also that the number of holes in perforated tube makes n1, n2 and n3 and is distributed over tube length at the ratio of 2:3:4.5 to increase along the flow of exhaust gases. Note that ratio between total areas of tube perforations s1:s2:s3 and area of perforated tube flow section Spt makes 0.67:1:1.5.
