FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing -campholene alcohol which possesses valuable organoleptic properties and can be used in perfume manufacturing. The method involves conversion of -pinene epoxide using a heterogeneous catalyst in a flow-type tubular reactor in a supercritical two-component solvent, which contains CO2 and isopropyl alcohol at temperature 180-200°C and pressure 110-180 atm. As a rule, the heterogeneous catalyst used is [Co(2,6-Me2C5H3N)2Br2]/Al2O3 or [Zn(2,6-Me2C5H3N)2Br2]}/Al2O3.
EFFECT: method enables to efficiently obtain the end product in a single preparative step with high output over a contact time of a few minutes.
