FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to improved method for obtaining 3,4-benzocinnoline by reduction of 2,2'-dinitrobiphenyl in isopropyl alcohol as solvent in presence of heterogenic catalyst - aluminium oxide (Al2O3) and supercritical solvent - isopropyl alcohol at temperature T = 320-360°C and pressure P = 150-220 atm. Process is realised in tubular flow-type reactor.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to obtain target product with high selectivity with quantitative conversion and high productivity of process in continuous mode, process is realised within several minutes without application of expensive catalysts.
