FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes reducing corresponding aromatic di- or trinitro-compounds in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst in the form of aluminium oxide, using isopropyl alcohol as a solvent. The process is carried out while adding supercritical isopropyl alcohol to a solution of the corresponding di- or trinitro-compound containing isopropyl alcohol, at temperature T=180-360°C and pressure P=150-220 atm. The process is usually carried out in a flow-type tubular reactor.
EFFECT: high efficiency of the process and conducting said process in continuous mode for a few minutes without using expensive catalysts.
