FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: mechanism comprises a gas chamber (1), where a piston (3) is installed, on the external surface of which there is a stop nut (4), a valve (5), a valve spring (6) and a control nut (7). A gas channel consisting of serially joined circular channel (9), arranged in the piston (3), radial holes (10) in the piston (3) and a circular bore (11), arranged in the stop nut (4), is closed with the valve (5), pressed with the valve spring (6). A discharge channel (14) is arranged in the form of a gap between the external surface of the valve (5) and the internal surface of the gas chamber (1). The control nut (7) serves as a support for the valve spring (6) and is fixed against spontaneous slippage by a spring-loaded fixator (15).

EFFECT: higher reliability and durability of a weapon, provides for reliable operation in an automatic mode with cartridges of different capacity.
