FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing hydrophobic adsorbents from natural aluminosilicates. The adsorbent is obtained by treating kaolinite or montmorillonite with particle size less than 0.16 mm with a solution of organosiloxane liquids in toluene of concentration 0.98-3.96 mol/l while heating to temperature 98-100°C for 2-8 hours. The organosiloxane liquids used are hexamethyldisiloxane, octamethyltetrasiloxane and methylphenylcyclotrisiloxane.
EFFECT: obtaining selective hydrophobic adsorbents.
