FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: hydrogen-rich combustible gas is obtained by heating a carbon-bearing substance with iron oxides in ratio 10:(2.5-3.5) to temperature 350-500°C in a reactor without access to oxygen. Superheated steam at the same temperature is then fed and a combustible gas with hydrogen concentration 40-90% is then obtained depending on the starting material. The carbon-bearing substance used is anthracite or peat semi-coke or wood semi-coke.
EFFECT: invention increases hydrogen output in the combustible gas.
