FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: according to the first version the motion of the projectile in the barrel is performed by activation by pressure of combustion gases of the main propellant charge and the solid-fuel charge coupled with the projectile. Solid-fuel charge is located in the device of increase the range capability of the projectile, which is attached to the projectile before firing. This solid-fuel charge is ignited on the barrel part of the projectile trajectory and after the projectile exit from the gun barrel. According to the second version the projectile motion is performed by activation by pressure of combustion gases of the main propellant charge, a solid-fuel charge, located in the device of increase the range capability of the projectile, is ignited after the exit of the projectile from the gun barrel. The device of increase the range capability of the projectile is separated from the projectile after the termination of solid-fuel charge burning. The device of increase the range capability of the projectile consists of a body with the combustion chamber, where the solid-fuel charge is located, the bottom with nozzle openings, the igniter, the node of mounting to the projectile, and contains the unit of power supply and conversion, the control unit installed in the device housing, nozzle caps set in nozzle holes of the bottom, and the pressure switch.
EFFECT: enhanced ballistic performance of the shot.
