SUBSTANCE: method for forming a protective coating of gun barrels consists in the fact that during manufacture, the inner surface of the barrel is covered with nanostructured fine mineral materials of natural origin for the entire length of the barrel by known methods, and under operating conditions, the coating of the inner surface of the barrel is formed at a distance of only 1.0-1.5 m from the breech with a tool based on a wiper.
EFFECT: obtaining additional useful energy for accelerating the projectile and thereby increasing the flight range.
