FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in cold rolling of steel butt welded strips at continuous and skin-rolling mils. Proposed method comprises reducing the strip by two rolls with weld seam indication on inlet into deformation source. In weld seam reduction, pulsed current is passed there through. Pulse duration equals 0.1÷0.5·10-4 s at relative pulse duration making 0.1÷100·103, while current density in a pulse makes 0.3÷0.5 kA/mm2.
EFFECT: decreased strip crown, rules out ruptures in weld seam zone.
