FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention aims at decreasing gage interference of thin strips and bands (not over 0.2 mm in thickness) produced by cold rolling from low carbon steels at continuous cluster mills. Proposed method comprises multipass reduction of blank in cluster mill rolls with application of interstand tension and feed of coolant-lubricant, diameter of rolls decreasing along rolling path. Stable temperature profile of rolls, decreased in their flattening and bending are ensured by increasing of coolant-lubricant flow rate in every next past in direct proportion to roll diameter decrease while roll diameter is specified by mathematical relationship.
EFFECT: stable temperature profile of rolls, decreased in their flattening and bending.
