FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: device to produce molten metal and synthesis gas comprises upper and lower chambers, a facility that separates them, facilities to supply pellets or briquettes into the upper chamber, facilities to supply ground coal into the lower chamber in a flow of a carrier gas, facilities to supply oxygen into the lower chamber, facilities to collect and discharge molten metal and slag from the lower part of the lower chamber and facilities to discharge synthesis gas from the upper part of the upper chamber. The facility that separates the upper and the lower chambers represents a fire grate with a mushroom-shaped element installed in the centre, through which synthesis gas is supplied from the lower chamber into the upper one. In side walls of the upper chamber there is a system of evaporation cooling connected with facilities to supply water in it and facilities to supply steam from it into the upper and lower chambers. And facilities to discharge synthesis gas from the upper part of the upper chamber are connected by a pipeline with the lower chamber to supply a part of gas in it, which is discharged together with carryover in the form of solid coal particles. Besides, used pellets or briquettes contain metal oxides with high chemical activity relative to carbon, coal and lime.
EFFECT: invention will make it possible to produce synthesis gas of high quality from inexpensive raw materials.
