FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: bubbling zones are created in the initial slag melt by isolating a portion of its surface from the whole surface of the bath by means of submerged cylindrical vessels without a bottom with a multi-channel vertical two tier tuyere-burner secured in each of them to produce a layer of foamed slag melt. Gaseous fuels are injected through the lower tier of tuyere-burners. Oxide-containing raw material with reducing agents and oxygen-containing gas is fed through the lower tier of tuyere-burners into produced layer of foamed slag melt with creation of lower reducing zone of foamed slag melt layer, in which reduction of iron oxides of initial raw material and melting is carried out. Afterburning of the formed gases is carried out in the upper oxidation zone of the foamed slag melt layer with oxygen-containing gas injected through the upper tier of said tuyere-burners and maintaining supply rate of the oxygen-containing gas, fuel/reductant to reduce iron oxides of initial material and form liquid iron.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to minimize formation of dusty wastes.
