FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a molten metal manufacturing method by direct recovery and melting of metal containing agglomerate in an electric furnace. Material loading chutes are installed in the furnace on both furnace ends, and electrodes (5) are installed in the furnace centre. Burners (6) of additional burning are installed in upper part (1) of the furnace having stepped areas directed downwards from both edges to electrodes (5). First, by loading of carbon-containing material from initial material loading chutes there created are layers (12) inclined downwards to lower parts of electrodes (5), and initial material in the form of metal containing agglomerate is loaded onto inclined surfaces of layers (12) and layers (13) are created. Molten iron is obtained by gradual melting of lower edges of layers (13) with electric arcs. From burners (6) there blown is oxygen-containing gas to provide combustion of gas containing CO, which appears in layers (13).
EFFECT: invention allows improving efficiency of additional combustion at production of molten metal.
