FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: gear coupling comprises sleeves with outer ring gears fitted on drive and driven shafts, and idle shaft with cages fitted on its ends coaxially with sleeves. Mating ring gear is arranged on inner side of every said cage to engage with ring gear of appropriate sleeve. Side surfaces of teeth of sleeves and cages represent segments of cylindrical surfaces with balls arranged there between to roll therein, there sizes mating those of clearances between opposite side surfaces of sleeve and cage teeth. Limit rings are arranged on both sides of ring gears with clearance and jointed with cages and sleeves to cover gearing zone on end faces.
EFFECT: reduced losses caused by friction, higher power output and device efficiency.
